Φ9.7mm omni-directional electret condenser microphone -40±3dB
Description:
An electret microphone is a type of electrostatic capacitor-based microphone, which eliminates the need for a polarizing power supply by using a permanently charged material. It converts sound into an electrical signal, and are commonly used in telephones, wireless telephones, mobile phones, telephones, PCs, language-learning recorders, radio recorders, cassette recorders, alarms, voice control toys, voice control switches and so on.
The top of an electret capsule is covered with a porous material which is attached with glue. This material keeps dust and other debris away from the sensitive electret material, and also gives some protection from wind noise on the microphone.Underneath this dust cover is a small hole in the aluminum capsule. This is where the sound enters the microphone. The aluminum capsule contains the electret material itself, and a small amplifier. The electret material is made of a metalized mylar film which is adhered to a metal washer. There is also a small red plastic spacer to keep the film a fixed distance from the amplifier module. Both the spacer and electret are extremely thin.

Application:
Electret microphones are the most commonly used microphones today. Every cellphone and laptop has one embedded into it, and many studio microphones are also electrets. They can have an extremely wide frequency response (from 10Hz to 30kHz ), and typically cost less than a dollar. They are also very small and quite sensitive.

Handling instruction:
1, Assembly process
• After connector and holder are once disassembled , they should not be re-used.
• Do not touch outer springs directly(except for PCB or proper terminal set at nominal height.
• Do not give any mechanical shocks to the micphone(e.g. dropping to floor)
2, General information
2-1: This microphone shall not be operated or stored in following environment.
• where liquid(water,solvent and so on)splashes.
• where the air has a high concentration of corrosive gas .
• where is too dusty.
• where temperature changes rapidly.
2-2: Frequency response especially in high frequency region is dependent on the structure of enclosure.
Please remove additional acoustic mass or cavity in front of the microphone to the utmost.
2-3:do not put mechanical pressure more than 2 kg to the microphone.
2-4: microphone should not be in state of outgoing packing for a long-term storage.
2-5: all the soldering procedures upon microphone must be complete in a metallic device, the temperature of the soldering irons must be limited as 320℃ and less 3 s ,the operators, the solder fixtures and the soldering irons must be statically grounded under each soldering process.
